Today is St. George’s Day in England and although it is not as celebrated as other Saint’s Days or public holidays, many people still celebrate and hold various events across the country.
An interesting fact about St. George is that he is also the patron saint of other countries including Syria, Georgia, Czech Republic, Hungary and Spain.
While we’re not getting a day off in England, I think today is the perfect opportunity to eat some good old English grub, whether you’re off to a country pub or home cooking, fish and chips is such a simple dish and is wonderful comfort food.
